Size guide

Most of our patterns come in sizes from EUR32 to 46 (US0 – 14/ UK4 – 18). Plus Size patterns have a wider size range of EUR32 – 50 (US0 – 18 / UK4 – 22). You will receive all sizes with your order, unless otherwise indicated. Check our size guide to see which size is the most suitable for you. Remember that the fit of a garment also depends on the style of the garment and whether it is fitted or loose – each pattern will come with instructions that include a chart of finished garment measurements for all sizes. All our patterns are designed for a 172 cm tall woman. You can always make your garments shorter or longer by amending the pattern. Please refer to the Pattern Alterations section of our website for further information on how to alter a pattern.

If your measurements don’t fit one of our sizes you should go with either the closest chest or hip measurement, depending on the pattern in question. We recommend that you choose the size with the closest chest measurement for tops, dresses and coats, and the closest hip measurement for pants and skirts.

Always remember to check the following measurements;

A. Chest measurement: Measure your chest across the fullest part, on top of your bra. Keep the measuring tape horizontally straight at the sides.

B. Waist measurement: Measure against your skin, around the narrowest section of your waist.

C. Hip measurement: Measure your hips at the widest part, on top of your underwear. Keep the measuring tape horizontally straight at the sides. Note that the widest part can also be the top of your thighs.

Skill Levels

Our patterns are divided into five different levels, depending on their difficulty. The levels are marked on the patterns with scissor symbols. You can also amend a pattern to meet your own needs and skill level, for example by leaving out some more challenging constructions. Remember to always challenge yourself though! Also note that the choice of fabric always impacts the sewing process.

  Very simple

Very easy and quick to make. They do not include many pattern pieces, seams or challenging constructions such as pockets or zippers. These patterns are excellent for beginners.

These patterns can include some more advanced constructions such as zippers, simple pockets and different seam types. Well suited for beginners as well as more advanced sewers.

These patterns include the most common garment constructions, such as different collars, vents and cuffs. Suitable for sewers with basic skills but not too challenging for less experienced sewersThe patterns can be simplified by leaving out some instructions (e.g. cuffs or pockets).

These patterns include some more challenging details and complex constructions. There are more pattern pieces and steps to complete and they are more diverse. This level will offer the right amount of challenge for someone with basic skills and are by no means too difficult to master.

There are only a few challenging patterns in each collection. Patterns at this level are mostly for evening or outerwear and the designs are very unique. They include complex constructions that will challenge you and let you prove your amazing sewing skills!
